Why 'The Strong One' Needs to Learn to Ask for Help

Velvet Muse · Oct 20, 2026

Many women are assigned the role of 'the strong one' early in life, and it can quickly become a cage. You are expected to hold everything together, provide answers, and never show vulnerability.

The danger in this role is that people stop seeing your need for support because they assume you do not have any. Eventually, the pressure to maintain this performance can lead to total burnout.

You are allowed to need help. True strength does not mean holding on until you break; it means knowing when to invite others to support you. Ask for help when you need it—it is a sign of wisdom, not weakness.
